A thinking partner for people who create.
We care deeply about fashion — what it means to people, how it shapes identity, why it matters. And we believe technology, done right, can make that relationship richer.
The bigger idea
Fashion is one of the most intimate forms of self-expression humans have. What you wear is a declaration — of who you are, where you're from, what you aspire to. It carries culture, memory, and identity in a way most things don't. We're not here because fashion is a convenient dataset. We're here because we find it endlessly fascinating, and because the people who shape it — the designers, the curators, the tastemakers — deserve better tools.
And we can build those tools. That's the other half of what Aesthetic DNA is: a genuine belief that the technology exists right now to do something remarkable with fashion — to understand it, articulate it, and ultimately help create more of what makes it great.
The question driving us is this: how do you take what a human loves, map it precisely, and use that map — together with AI — to create something neither could have found alone?
That's the collaboration we're building toward. Tastemakers bring irreplaceable intuition — the trained eye, the cultural context, the feeling that something is right before you can say why. AI brings pattern recognition at a scale and speed no human can match. Together, they can surface ideas, connections, and directions that stay hidden when either works in isolation.
Fashion is the medium right now. But the same principles apply anywhere creativity lives — product, interiors, music, visual culture. We're starting here because the signals are rich, the stakes are real, and the gap between what people love and what they can find or build is enormous.
What we do
In practice, Aesthetic DNA is a style intelligence engine. Upload photos of clothes you love and our system analyzes them through five proprietary lenses to build a precise map of your aesthetic. Not a mood board. A profile.
That profile becomes a tool for collaboration. You can use it to discover pieces that match your taste, understand what makes your aesthetic distinct, and — if you're a brand or designer — understand your customer's taste at a depth that's hard to reach any other way.
Taste is historical. Shopping is present tense.
Most tools operate in the present tense. They show you what's trending, what's popular, what's moving right now. Aesthetic DNA works differently.
The aesthetics that move people most deeply are rooted in specific cultural moments — a particular city, a particular scene, a particular era when something clicked. The Snow Beach Polo Sport era. West Coast electronic soul. Quiet luxury before it had a name. Those moments carry an energy that generic trend reports can't touch, because they're not about what's popular — they're about what meant something.
The Curiosity Engine is where that insight becomes a product. We take the DNA of a specific cultural moment — defined through reference images that capture it precisely — and find what carries that same DNA in what exists right now. Not a replica. Not a costume. The modern piece that shares the same color logic, the same silhouette energy, the same construction sensibility.
That's the bridge. From what you love about a moment in style history, to what you can actually wear today.
How the engine works
Using our proprietary image analysis technology — currently in the patent process — Aesthetic DNA identifies the distinguishable aspects of fashion design that make a piece feel distinctly like you. The signals that a trained eye picks up immediately but struggles to put into words. The result is a precise aesthetic profile, not a rough approximation or a mood board.
Who this is for
Aesthetic DNA is built for anyone who makes decisions about taste and wants a precise instrument to think with.
- Designers and creative directors who want to understand how their work lands and where it sits relative to what's moving in culture
- Buyers and brand directors who need to understand their customer's aesthetic at a level beyond demographics
- Stylists and curators who want to sharpen their eye and find pieces that feel exactly right
- Style seekers who know what they love but struggle to find more of it
Our belief
We are not building tools that replace human judgment. We don't think that's interesting, and we don't think it works.
The best outcomes happen when technology sharpens intuition rather than supplanting it — when a tastemaker's instinct is given better instruments to work with. Aesthetic DNA is designed to be a collaborator: something you think with, not something that thinks for you.
What that looks like in practice is a tool that surfaces what's hard to see, articulates what's hard to say, and opens up directions a human might never have reached alone — while keeping the human in the room, making the call.
